Fluicell is a Swedish life science company with operations in single-cell biology, drug screening and bioprinting through products and services based on microfluidic technology. Fluicell also conducts development work in regenerative medicine and tissue-based research models with the goal to change the face of medicine from the ground up.

We are now accelerating our regenerative medicine development program in the area of type 1 diabetes and are looking for a Junior Research Assistant to join our team on a contract basis.

As a junior research assistant, you will have a chance to be part of our R&D team and participate in the development of regenerative medicine applications within area of Type 1 diabetes using company’s bioprinting technology. By joining Fluicell’s R&D team, you will be part of a highly innovative and dynamic research environment at the technological frontline and a diverse and collaborative team of scientists from a broad variety of backgrounds.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the routine laboratory maintenance and activities such as general housekeeping, preparing solutions, media, stains, and chemical handling; clean and sterilize equipment and work area
  • Assist with maintaining cells in culture, quality control testing, and daily maintenance of cells
  • Execute basic procedures such as: cell staining, viability assay, cell counting, cell imaging, image analysis, and others.
  • Assist with experimental design, performing bioprinting experiments and bioassays, analyzing data, and summarizing findings
  • Prepare progress reports and process documentation; check facts, proofread, and edit research documents to ensure accuracy
  • Attend meetings; comply with the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations

Required qualification

  • The successful candidate should hold a
  • MSc degree in in biotechnology, molecular biology, biology or related fields
  • Be familiar with general understanding of scientific principles, standard laboratory procedures and aseptic technique.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Willingness and ability to learn new methods and skills for changing research priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, coordinate work tasks with others, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
